I've been thinking about this lately in terms of social media. Social media keeps us at the 2 dimensional realm (partly due to the algorithm, partly due to the space limitations, partly due to us allowing us to do so). We allow it to turn us into caricatures, exaggerating one part of our lives/minds at the expense of others. For example, that "friend" is the one who is always on vacation, or having fun with friends, or who is angry about this or that in the political realm. It robs us of seeing each other as whole, complex people. Again, lots to think about!
